IT ALL BEGINS WITH A "HELLO".
Five members of our CLG visited the Evan’s family on Thursday, April 2nd. We planned to drop off pizza & quickly introduce ourselves but Mr. and Mrs. Evans graciously invited us into their home. We met 4 of their children and their precious 3 year old granddaughter. While the children ate in the kitchen, we chatted with Mr. and Mrs. Evans in the living room. We spent an hour talking & laughing with them while learning more about their family.
SNIPPETS FROM A CLG: The central heat in the Evan’s home does not work so they heat their home with the oven. They’ve recently had an electrical fire from faulty wiring. The landlord has repaired the problem that caused the fire but we have concerns that for various reasons the house may not meet safety codes. We're looking into what it would take to make their home safe. Mrs. Evans plans to attend the weekly Justice Project Bible Study on Tuesday..

SNIPPETS FROM A CLG: I spoke with Angela last Friday & she wanted a suit for her grandson for Easter, but could have never afforded such a luxury. So one of our life group members picked up the cutest little thing I have ever seen over the weekend (our group has split the cost of) and wanted to get it to her before Easter Sunday. Wes & I had a TV we also wanted to give her. In addition I have had one taker who was interested in one of Angela's puppies from a facebook referral. So -today myself with the kiddos, Wes & Smitty went over to Angela's house for the drop off & pick up. Smitty's family has taken one of the new dogs & they are going to LOVE HER!!!! Only 3 more to give away... Angela received info on the ladies Bible study started by the Justice Project, & also plans on attending tomorrow. -W

SNIPPETS FROM A CLG: Just wanted to send you a note letting you in on our communications with our families. I have spoken with Tinika a couple of times on the phone. She gets excited when I call now & tomorrow night half of my small group is taking her & her boyfriend out to dinner. She has never had Mexican food so she asked if we could take her to a Mexican restaurant. We are super excited & I think she is too.
Last week, me & two of my group members gave Vanessa a surprise visit because we could never get her on the phone. Turns out, she is on the phone 8 hrs. a day with her job. So answering her phone isn't high on her list of favorite things to do. The other half of my group will be taking her to dinner on Thursday night of this week. She's a really fun, upbeat woman with strong Christian faith and is happy to have us around!! I am already starting to really love these ladies and can't wait for my small group to get to know them better & discern how to serve them well!!
-Blake
